The Recreation Centre is looking to fill several positions with high energy, enthusiastic and creative individuals.  

 

Lifeguards 

Hours and availability vary throughout the year. Mornings, mid-day, afternoon, evenings, weekends, etc. Guarding duties include overseeing the pool for safety during lap swimming, youth swim classes, youth free swim, and swim clinic/team practices. Please contact Julia Ward jward@jwhayden.org 

Training opportunities are offered throughout the year. 

Swim Instructors 

Hours and availability vary throughout the year. Mornings, afternoon, evenings, weekends, etc. Instructors will teach youth members based on American Red Cross level lesson plans. Please contact Julia Ward jward@jwhayden.org

Group Leaders - Hayden After School

Available hours are Monday – Thursday 2:45 – 6:30 and Friday 11:45 – 6:30.  We do have flexibility with days and scheduling throughout the school year.  Individuals should be able to safely lead students through a variety of activities at the Centre. Group leaders in Hayden After School also play a key role in monitoring students during transportation from the schools to the Centre. Applicants must be 18 years of age and have experience working with children. Please contact Hayden After School Program Director at has@jwhayden.org. 

Weight Room Staff

Hours are Wednesday 3:30 – 9:00 and Friday 3:30-7:30 afternoons.  We do have flexibility with days and scheduling throughout the school year.  Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining the weight room. Please contact Krista Marquez at kmarquez@jwhayden.org 

Dance Instructor - Saturday

Instructors to lead pre-school and beginner dance classes with a background in ballet, tap, and jazz. Please contact Berta Sinclair at bsinclair@jwhayden.org

 Ice Skating Instructor

Hours and days vary throughout the year. We do have flexibility with days and scheduling throughout the school year.  Essential functions include: demonstrating proper use of equipment, techniques, and methods of proper movement to achieve proficiency in activity. Instruction must follow the United States Figure Skating Association’s Learn-to-Skate program format and any specific Club direction. Applicants must be 16 years of age.
