Schools Out Childcare & Programs 

No school? No problem! Hayden’s School’s Out Childcare and Programs turns daysoff into big adventures. From gym games and outdoor play to creative crafts and team challenges, our full-day programs keep kids active,engaged, and smiling all day long. Whether it’s a holiday, professional development day, or school vacation week, we’ve got the fun covered—so parents can breathe easy and kids can make the most of their day.

One-Day & Vacation Week Programs

Looking for care when school is closed? Hayden’s School’s Out Childcare programs offer a fun and active environment for children on many days that school is not in session throughout the year—including most holidays, professional development days, and vacation weeks in December, February, and April.


Our programs are designed to keep kids engaged, social, and having fun while parents enjoy peace of mind.

What’s Included

  • Active Play: Gym time and structured movement games
  • Creative Time: Arts & crafts and hands-on projects Group
  • Games: Board games, team activities, and themed fun
  • Social Connection: Opportunities to build friendships and teamwork

When It’s Offered

Many single-day programs on no-school days throughout the academic year Full-week childcare available during:

  • December Vacation Week (Varying days depending on how the holidays
  • February Vacation Week (Closed on Presidents Day)
  • April Vacation Week (Closed on Patriots Day)

Exact dates and availability may vary based on the Lexington Public Schools calendar and facility hours.

Registration & Availability

  • Registration is required in advance and opens seasonally
  • Programs often fill quickly—early sign-up is recommended
  • Open to Hayden members in Kindergarten through Grade 5

School’s Out Programs

When school takes a break, Hayden steps in with fun-filled activities to keep kids active, engaged, and smiling! Our School’s Out Programs run during December, February, and April vacation weeks, as well as on select no-school days throughout the school year.


Each program is thoughtfully designed to give children a chance to try something new, make friends, and stay moving—even when the classroom is closed.

Past favorites have included:

  • Little Dancers and Little Gymnastics for our youngest movers
  • Preschool Fun packed with games, crafts, and exploration
  • Sport & Splash combos that keep energy levels high
  • Dance, P.E., and Swim Clinics to build skills and confidence
  • Special-themed Cooking and Art Workshops for creative minds
